Terms of service
Template text written for a fictional product. It is not legal advice and creates no agreement with anyone.
What the service would be
In plain language: A planning tool. It reads transactions and does arithmetic. It does not hold or move money.
Almanac would be a planning tool that reads transaction history, identifies costs that repeat on cycles longer than a month, and calculates a weekly amount to set aside.
Almanac would not be a bank, broker, or registered investment adviser, and would not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. It would hold no funds and initiate no transfers.
Accounts
In plain language: One person per Solo account, two per Household. Keep your login to yourself.
You would be responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. A Solo plan covers one person; a Household plan covers two people in the same household.
Accounts could be closed at any time from settings.
Billing
In plain language: Household is $6 a month or $60 a year after a 30-day trial. Cancel before it ends and nothing is charged.
Household would be free for 30 days, then $6 per month or $60 per year until cancelled. Cancelling before the trial ends would avoid any charge.
Cancelling a paid subscription would keep Household features until the end of the paid period, after which the account would return to Solo. Refunds would be available within 14 days of a charge.
Estimates and accuracy
In plain language: The numbers are estimates from past transactions. Real bills may differ.
Planning figures would be estimates derived from past transactions and may differ from actual amounts. Detection of recurring costs would not be guaranteed to be complete or correct, and you would remain responsible for your own payments and deadlines.
Liability
In plain language: The service would be provided as-is, with liability capped at what you paid.
The service would be provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, liability would be limited to the amount paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
In plain language: Material changes would be announced 30 days ahead by email.
These terms could be updated from time to time. Material changes would be announced by email at least 30 days before taking effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards would constitute acceptance.
